Bad thoughtsMy six year old daughter has been  on a bit of a destruction spree the last few days.  She’s colored her gameboy, her desk chair and writing her name on everything and anything, usually in permanent marker.  When asked why she’s been doing it, she tells us that she doesn’t want to talk about it.

So today when she got home from school, she was in a chatty mood, so once again I asked her about it.  Her first reply was the same as always, I don’t want to talk about it.  So I rephrased the question and asked again.

“What made you think you could write on those things?”  I asked.

“My bad thoughts.”  She finally replied, hiding her face with a teddy bear.

“Well how do you get rid of those bad thoughts?”

“When I get what I want, they’ll go away.”  She tells me in that innocent little girl voice.

“So what do you want?”

“I want to see a shooting star!”

So, I guess I’m supposed to command a star to fall so that her bad thoughts will go away?  If only I had that kind of power!
