New Respect

Posted by Leigh on October 31, 2008

Over the last few days I have gained a new respect for parents of toddlers.  With my youngest being almost six, I had forgotten how active and hard to handle toddlers are.  Since Wednesday morning, I have been babysitting my nine month old niece, and it has been an experience.

Up until we started construction on our new house I had her quite often, but it seems when you’re homeless (living in your parents basement) no one asks you to babysit, so I had a three month break from babysitting, and boy did she change a lot during that time!

Baby Shower Gifts Made Easy

Silver Rocket Pack Diaper Bag Collection from Ju Ju Be

Silver Rocket Pack Diaper Bag Collection from Ju Ju Be

Our best friends are having twins, they just found out a month ago that it’s a boy and a girl, or so they were told (I won’t believe it until they’re actually born, I’ve seen too many people think they were having a girl and it turned out to be a boy.)

So I have been shopping like mad the last month for great baby shower gifts for them.  He’s a big time Yankee’s fan who works with my husband in warehousing, she’s a former professional ballerina, how the two ended up together - we may never know.  (Okay, actually they met when she moved back to the area and got a job at his parents restaurant.)  We’re so excited for them.

When they first found out they were expecting, we teased Billy relentlessly, telling him that they were going to end up with twins.  Hmm…  maybe we shouldn’t have teased so much?  But they’re thrilled about it.

Needless to say, I have been to every local and semi-local baby store and haven’t been able to find anything that stood out, that I knew both of them would like.  Then I ran across Forest and Zoe, and the Ju Ju Be diaper bag collection, and knew that I had hit the jackpot.   I just love the silver rocket pack collection, and they have it in both pink and blue.  The accessories to match are so cute, and so different, that I know both Billy and Jaime will love it!  It’s unlike anything I’ve seen before, and looks great.  I can’t wait until it gets here!

So if you’re looking for a diaper bag that makes a statement, instead of those “eww too cute” ones that can be found at any store - look no further check out the Ju Ju Be Diaper Bag Collection at Forest and Zoe.  With all that they have to choose from, you’ll certainly find the one that’s right for you!

This makes me want another baby even more!

She thinks she’s old… But I’m the one who can hardly keep up!

Posted by Leigh on October 22, 2008

My Gram is 81, she says she gets tired out easy and can’t walk alot.  But by the time we got home last night - after 5pm, I was the one who was exhausted - not her.  And I had even had a two hour break, sitting in the waiting room of the hospital, while she had her tests run.

For 81, she sure can shop!  We left yesterday morning at 11am to run all her errands before her hospital appointment.  The pharmacy, the bank, having lunch, then her appointment, picking up my daughter after school, on to some shopping, and the grocery shopping, and she was still raring to go, but unfortunately I had to be home to fix supper for my family.  She would have shopped for hours longer.

Safety Measures Taken a Little Too Far?

The World Prays and Remembers 9-11-2001, Day of Infamy when Terrorists Murdered Many_IMG_8676A High School student in Kentucky is facing felony charges for writing a short story about a high school being over run by zombies.  How ridiculous is that?

The worst part is, it seems to be happening quite often anymore.

When my son was in the 3rd grade, only 9 years old, he and his friend were sitting on the playground talking about a movie.  I believe it was one of the Wesley Snipes Blade movies.  Apparently in the movie someone blows up a computer.  Well, one of the teachers over heard them and they were shipped off to the Principal’s office.
